Bicaz Gorge Tour – Maria Stone Hike - Hiking experience!

Many of you have already visited Cheile Bicazului and admired its impressive rock walls. You may have wondered what kind of view climbers enjoy from above. This tour is designed to show you exactly that!
You will have the chance to reach places that are normally accessible only to experienced climbers – all in complete safety, without technical climbing or special rope skills. Our experienced mountain guides know every hidden trail and can safely lead you to these spectacular viewpoints.
Route description
The tour starts from Șaua Tifrea, from where we ascend along the southern side of Piatra Maria. After approximately 20–30 minutes, we reach the first viewpoint, located on the top of Piatra Maria (1125 m).
From here, an outstanding panorama opens up:
the Bicaz River deep below
the impressive Piatra Altarului
the surrounding cliffs and peaks
We then continue along forest paths to the southeastern viewpoint, where you can admire the beautiful valley of Cheile Bicajelului.
After another 20–30 minutes, we arrive at the northeastern viewpoint, standing on the edge of a vertical rock wall more than 300 meters high. Below us flows the water of Bicajel, while in front of us unfolds one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the area.
A steeper descent follows toward the valley of Cheile Bicajelului. From there, we can choose between:
returning toward the Turnul Negru area
or walking back through the forest toward Lacu Roșu

for groups over 10 people: 10–15% discount
